Bishop launches child protection policy for diocese

Speaking at the publication of a Child Protection Policy for the Diocese of Cork & Ross, Bishop John Buckley said that the policy is a statement of the commitment of this Diocese to ensuring that all children and young people involved in Church-related activities are safeguarded and respected.

First pastoral council set up in Murragh

The parish of Murragh and Templemartin has nominated its first parish pastoral council and members have been participating in a formation programme.
The parish includes Newcestown and Farnivane.
Each Station area in the parish has nominated one parishioner from each area who will join Fr Finbarr Crowley Adm in the new pastoral council.

Diocese updates plans for pastoral areas in meetings with parishioners and clergy.

Changes to the plans to group parishes together in the diocese have been presented to parish representatives and clergy at meetings in the diocese.
Almost 300 people heard Bishop John Buckley and members of the working group on pastoral areas respond to how parishioners and clergy had reacted to the proposals made in March at a diocesan conference.
